Pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s home Osborne House, with beautiful parkland grounds down to the private beach. Or if gardens are your thing how about Mottistone House & Gardens or Farringford Gardens?
Visit historic Carisbrooke Castle, Yarmouth Castle or the many old forts on the island. Quarr Abbey is worth visiting, peaceful surroundings with cafe and shop. Also feed the pigs and see the piglets.
Look out for red squirrels, you may see them best at Alverstone Mead, Firestone Copse, America Wood or The Garlic Farm.
For children, apart from the many beaches there is fun to be had on Sandown Pier at the amusements. Sandham Gardens with Skynets and karting, along with Browns Golf pitch n putt and Dinosaur Isle are just around a 20 minute walk from the chalet.
Tapnell Farm & Waterpark towards Yarmouth is a great day out too including axe throwing & archery, or how about the famous Blackgang Chine theme park? Robin Hill Country Park is opening in 2025 with lots for the whole family but especially for children aged 3-12.
Crazy golf and amusements can be found on Shanklin seafront.
Visit The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary just opposite the beach, to see and hear about the rescued tigers, lions, lynx and monkeys to name but a few. Dogs welcome in the cafe but not the actual park.

The Donkey Sanctuary at Wroxall is free to visit and has a large cafe. Amazon World has smaller zoo animals to see. There is also Butterfly World, West Wight Alpacas and Monkey Haven to visit.
At Sandown Bay you can hire kayaks and pedalo bikes, & SUPs.
SUP/paddle boarding can be booked at St Helens/Bembridge and over the west at Freshwater Bay and Colwell Bay.
RIB rides and boat trips can be booked to The Needles from Cowes.
For boat enthusiasts The Round The Island yacht race takes place in June and Cowes Week in July/Aug.
For walkers the island is a paradise with so many footpaths to choose from, coastal and inland. The island is a UNESCO and Biosphere Reserve, beautiful scenery and views whichever walk you take.
For cyclists there are miles of cycle tracks, often based along the old railway tracks on the island. Cycles and E Bikes can be hired from various places, possibly the closest is in Shanklin.
Lots of lovely produce to be found such as Isle of Wight Tomatoes, IOW Cheese Co, garlic and chilli. Not forgetting wine, gin and beer all locally produced.
Most pubs and cafes welcome dogs. There are many wonderful places serving fresh seafood and too many lovely places for food to list! There are cafes and supermarkets in Sandown high street and pubs/bars along the seafront. You are just a few minutes drive from a large Tesco or Morrisons if needed.
Vegan food can be found at The Wildheart Cafe opposite the beach or at The Bay Vegan Deli in Sandown high street.
For wine enthusiasts, visit Adgestone Vineyard just an 8-10 min drive from Beach Breeze. They serve wonderful food with live music at weekends in the summer months. For beer how about Goddards Brewery at Branstone or for gin visit the Mermaid Gin Distillery.
